TCT Wood Bandsaw Blades

The TCT wood bandsaw blades are known for their deep ripping and ultra fine sawing technique, but what else do you need to know?

What Is A TCT Blade Used For?

TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) wood bandsaw blades are a type of blade that is specifically designed for cutting wood. They feature tungsten carbide tips on the teeth of the blade, which provides a longer lifespan and improved cutting capabilities compared to traditional carbon steel blades. TCT blades are suitable for cutting a wide range of woods, including hardwoods and softwoods, as well as other materials such as plywood and MDF.

They are commonly used in woodworking, furniture making, and other wood-related industries

What Is A TCT Blade And What Does TCT Mean?

TCT blades are a type of saw blade that are equipped with tungsten carbide tips on their teeth. Tungsten carbide is a very hard and long-lasting material that can withstand the rigours of cutting through wood, metal and other materials.

These blades are widely used in woodworking, metalworking and construction industries due to their increased lifespan and better cutting performance compared to conventional carbon steel blades.

What Does It Feature?

TCT stands for Tungsten Carbide Tipped. It can often also be abbreviated as TC. Tungsten Carbide is one of the hardest quality materials for bandsaw blades and is great value for money.

  • TCT blades are designed with different configurations of teeth, such as alternate top bevel, wavy set, etc.
  • The teeth can be sharpened multiple times before they need to be replaced.
  • They also feature a heat-treated steel body that provides added strength and rigidity to the blade, which helps to prevent bending and warping during use.
  • Some TCT blades also have a thin kerf design which reduces the amount of material removed during cutting and increases the efficiency of the cutting process.
  • The blades’ teeth have been toughened. Heat resistance is created as a result, extending the life and strength of the blade.
  • On the back of the blade is a special heat line. The blade is kept from buckling as a result. Additionally, you get a straighter cut.
  • This enhances cutting performance, lessens heat buildup, and more effectively removes waste.
  • It cuts more forcefully because the hook angle is greater. Despite this, it still leaves a smooth finish, which speeds up and makes cutting easier.
  • Similar to thin kerf circular saw blades, thin gauge (kerf) requires less power to drive with less waste.
  • a greater tooth set that increases the blade’s adaptability to a larger variety of woods
